On 13 February 1945, Pvt Brown was transferred to Company E, 508th PIR from the 551st PIB after that unit was inactivated on 27 January, 1945.

He was last discharged on 3 September 1945, probably at Fort Snelling, MN.

This updated draft record was completed on 4 September 1945, the day after Claude was discharged.

This application for the Iowa WWII Veterans Bonus was completed by Claude on 4 May 1949.  His service qualified him to receive the full $500 bonus award.

His military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for the Southern France Campaign and Airborne Operations.
