RICHARD E. BROWNLEE

Grave marker for Richard E. Brownlee in Section 10, Lot 103 of the Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas (Dallas county), Texas.

Richard enlisted in the Army at Dallas, TX and was assigned to Company H, 508th PIR.

On 16 August 1943 T5 Brownlee was transferred to the 541st PIR.

On 21 January 1945 Pvt Brownlee returned to the 508th from the 505th PIR.  A week later he was hospitalized as a non-battle casualty (possibly due to frostbite.)

On 8 March Pvt Brownlee was promoted to Pfc.

His military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for participation in the Normandy assault, apparently while he was with the 541st or 505th.

He retired as a Master Sergeant.
