JOSEPH F. BRUMBAUGH

Joseph enlisted in the Army at Ft Sheridan, IL and was assigned to Company I, 508th PIR.

Pvt  was transferred from Company I to HQ 3rd on 11 August 1944.

T5 Brumbaugh was injured in action on 31 January 1945 and was able to return to duty on 6 February 1945. He was subsequently transferred to Service Company on 2 April 1945.

T5 Brumbaugh  re-enlisted on 29 December 1945 and later transitioned into the newly formed Air Force.  He served in Korea but it is unclear as to which branch of the service he was in at the time.

His military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for participation in Normandy assault and the Bronze Star Medal which may have been awarded to him as the holder of a Combat Infantryman Badge.
