Donald registered for the draft in
Morgantown, WV on 16 February 1942 and was inducted into the Army at
Clarksburg, WV on 23 November 1942,
Pfc Buckaew was transferred to Company
E, 508th PIR some time after 20 September 1945 as a complete listing of
the company on that date does not include his name.
However, on 29 November 1945, he is
shown as being admitted to the 97th General Hospital, Frankfurt, Germany
and then returning to duty after 13 days.
He also received a Good Conduct Medal
awarded through General Order 13, dated 6 March 1946.
Donald passed away on 15 May 2002 and
was buried in Beverly Hills Memorial Park, Morgantown (Monongalia
county), West Virginia. |
