NICHOLAS J. CASPER

Grave marker for Nicholas J. Casper in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Littleton (Arapahoe county), Colorado.

Nicholas registered for the draft in Hays, KS on 11 August 1943 and was inducted into the Army at Denver, CO on  4 November 1943.

On 18 September 1944, Pvt Casper was transferred from Hq 82nd Airborne Division, Leicester, England to Service Company, 508th PIR and then to Company E on 7 January 1945.

Pvt Casper was wounded in action on 25 January 1945 and evacuated.  He rejoined the company on 15 February 1945.

His military decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge for action during campaign, 18 Dec 1944 to 20 Feb 1945, effective 7 February 1945
