GENE CASTLE

Grave marker for Gene Castle in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville (Johnson County), Kentucky.

Gene enlisted in the Army as a Pfc as he was  transitioning from the National Guard.  His military decorations include the Silver Star and Bronze Star Medals, as well as the Purple Heart.

PAINTSVILLE -- Gene Castle, 80, Turner Street, retired Army master sergeant, World War II veteran who received a Silver Star, Bronze Star and a Purple Heart, uncle of Anita Spencer, died Monday. Services 1 p.m. Friday, Jones-Preston Funeral Home. Visitation 5 p.m. today.
