CLARENCE W. CHABAK
Clarence William "Bill" Chabak, 79, of Decatur, passed away at 12:49 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
  Bill was born July 26, 1932, in Hannibal, Missouri the son of Carrie Alice Glover. He graduated from Hannibal High School.
   He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army with the 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Team during the Korean War.
   He was previously employed as a machinist and served as union officer with the Wabash and Norfolk & Southern Railroads retiring after forty-five years of service. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #577, and the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers. His passion was the Wabash Hospital where he served on the Board of Directors. Bill always wanted to be helpful to people.
   He married Dorita Wilson May 2, 1954. He leaves behind Dorita, his beloved wife of over fifty-seven years, sons, Rick Chabak and Julie of Liberty, Missouri and Steve Chabak of Decatur, daughter, Tina Chabak and Barb Silnes of Chicago, six grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was reunited in Heaven with his parents and one brother.
