RAYMOND A. CHAPIN

Grave markers for Raymond A. Chapin in Evergreen Cemetery, East Brookfield (Worcester county), Massachusetts.

 

Raymond registered for the draft in Spencer, MA on 16 October 1940 and was inducted into the Army at Fort Devens, MA on 13 January 1942.

On 12 August 1943, Pvt Chapin was transferred to Hq 2nd, 508th PIR and on 15 September 1943 he was transferred to Camp Patrick Henry, VA, He was probably absorbed into an infantry unit as that post served primarily as a troop staging ground.
