HAROLD S. CODDINGTON

Grave marker for Harold S. Coddington in Plot 18, Site1506, Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton (Suffolk county), New York.

 

Harold registered for the draft in Goshen, NY on 1 July 1941 and was inducted into the Army at Camp Upton, Yaphank, NY on 10 February 1942.

On 6 August 1943 Pvt Coddington was transferred from the Parachute School, Fort Benning, GA to Hq 2nd, 508 PIR.  Less than a month later he was listed as "from Detached Service to transferred" but with no indicated destination.

Coddington was listed in the WWII Hospital Admission Card Files as having been wounded by the blast effects of an artillery shell in December 1944.  He was released to duty in January 1945.
