ROBERT E. COFFEE
COFFEE
   Funeral services for Robert E. (Bob) Coffee, 74. of Skylake, Sautee. will be held 2:00 p m. Saturday, November 30, 1996 at the Habersham Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Winter will officiate. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
   The remains are at the funeral home where family will receive friends Friday evening 7-9 p.m.
   Mr. Coffee died Wednesday, November 27, 1996 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Coffee was born in Atlanta to the late John and Tonie Sirman Coffee.
   He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during WWII and was Vice President of Howards Furniture Co. in Atlanta from which he retired in 1987. Mr. Coffee retired to Sautee in 1991 and was a member of Cleveland United Methodist Church.
   The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 615C Oak St.. Gainesville, GA 30501.
   Survivors include wife, Janette Coffee, Sautee; daughter, Linda Coffee, Chicago, IL; son, Barry Coffee, Juneau, AK; sisters, Doris Hearst, Brookhaven, GA, Ann Weed, Snellville; one grandson, Justin Coffee; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
   Habersham Memorial Chapel of Demorest is in charge of arrangements.

Robert registered for the draft in DeKalb county, GA on 30 June 1942 and was inducted into the Army at  Fort McPherson, Atlanta, GA on 15 October 1942.

Cpl Coffee was reported missing in action as of 6 June 1944 and was later determined to be a prisoner of war.

He was liberated from Stalag 3C Alt Drewitz Brandenburg, Prussia 52-14 after hostilities ended.
