ROBERT E. COOK
Robert E. Cook, 90 of Atlanta, died at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor. He was born March 2, 1923 in Goldsmith to Leo C. & Leota M. (Johnson) Cook.

On October 20, 1956 he married Kathryn R. Baden and she preceded him in death on April 4, 2012.

Robert was a carpenter. He was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church, American Legion in Tipton Post 46, V.F.W. Post 8756, and the 508th Parachute Infantry Association. Robert served in the U.S. Army, 82 Airborne Division during WWII and the Korean War.

He is survived by three daughters, Vickie Hiatt, British Columbia, Canada, Becky Scherer, Noblesville, and Linda Mays, Atlanta; six grandchildren, Kristy Hiatt, Canada, Robbie Hiatt, Canada, Rick Scherer, Colorado, Missy Scherer, Colorado, Brian Mays, Georgia, and Scott Mays, Georgia; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, Lloyd Cook, Elwood. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Lilly and a brother, Donald Cook.

Robert's funeral will be at11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Barnett presiding and burial with military honors to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 710 West 16th Street, New York, New York 10032.
