GROVER ft COX SR. Grover H. Cox, Sr., 75. 148 S. Drive, Anderson, died Sunday at the Americana Healthcare Center In Anderson. He was born Sept. 11, 1918, In Harold, Ark. Ha moved to Anderson from Missouri and had lived in the Middletown- Alexandria- Anderson area most of his
life. Ha was self-employed with Cox Construction Co. He was a member of the Church of God and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 268. Ha was also a veteran of World War II, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy J. Fox of Anderson,
whom he married May 31, 1938; one daughter, Mary Ruth Ellison of Anderson; four sons, Grover H. Cox Jr. of Anderson and Timothy James Cox, David D. Cox and Samuel Stephen Cox, all of Alexandria; three
sisters, Willie Jean Martin, Dorothy Helton and Sue Wise, al of Sikeston, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a. m. Wednesday at the Brown- But- Diedring Funeral Home In Anderson. The Rev. Henry Weaver will officiate. Burial and military graveside rites will be at Pleasant Walk Cemetery.

Harrison, IN on 9 June 1944.
Pvt Cox was transferred from the 11trh Reinforcement
Depot to Company C, 508th PIR on 1 March 1945.
He was appointed to the grade of Pfc on 9 March 1945/
Pfc Cox was discharged on 4 January 1946.
Grover
was suffering with Alzheimer disease and succumbed to a heart attack at
the Americana Health Center, Anderson, IN. |
