Crussemeyer in Section 33 , Rice Cemetery, Elkhart (Elkhart county),
Indiana.
Henry registered for the draft in Elkhart, IN on 7
May 1943 and was inducted into the Army on 8 July 1943.
Pvt Crussemeyer was transferred from the 6900th
Reinforcement Depot to Company, 508th PIR on 3 June 1945.
He was transferred to the 100th Infantry Division, US
Seventh Army on 21 September 1945 and was discharged on 9 November
1946. He may have re-enlisted but that is uncertain.
On
17 October 1947, Henry married Elfriede A. Frohlich in Mannheim,
Germany. 10 days later they arrived in New York, City, NY
aboard Pan Am Flight 115 from Frankfurt via
Shannon, Ireland.
Elfriede predeceased Henry, dying at the early age of
44 in 1970. Henry succumbed to lung disease and diabetes at
age 63. Both lie in the Rice Cemetery (see above.) |
