Arthur K. Czalbowski, age 53, of 701 State St., Hammond, Ind., passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 1974, at St. Margaret Hospital, Hammond.
Mr. Czalbowski was employed as a machinist for East Chicago Machine and Tool and was a veteran of World War II,
Survivors: five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Nlckle) String-field of Hammond, Mrs. Robert (Rosemary) Bean of Madisonville, Kentucky, Mrs. James (Sharon) Baker and Miss Nadine Czalbowski, both of Madisonville, Kentucky, and Mrs. Steven (Debra) Stringfield of Hammond; two sons, Michael of Madisonville, Kentucky and Arthur Jr. of South Bend, Ind.; mother, Mrs. Mary Czalbowski of Hammond,-Ind.; two brothers, Theodore Czalbowski of Hammond and Ray Czalbowski of Lansing, III.; ten grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. from the Burns Funeral Home, 5840 Hohman Ave., Hammond with the Rev. William Barber officiating. Interment, Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Ind.
Friends are invited to call Sun., 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

that he died as a result of complications after suffering 2nd and 3rd
degree burns over 50% of his body.
The death was ruled accidental and attributed to a stove fire which
occurred at this home. |
Arthur registered for the
draft in Hammond, IN on 16 February 1942.
He was enlisted at
Indianapolis, IN on 18 November 1942.
Cpl Czalbowski was
transferred from the 11th Replacement Depot to Company I, 508th PIR on
10 August 1944.
He was evacuated after
being slightly wounded in action in Holland on 23 September 1944
and retuned to duty on 4 October 1944.
He suffered a second wound
on 27 December 1944 in Belgium. He was able to return to the
company on 18 March 1945.
He was discharged on 6
November 1945. |
