WALTER E. DALTON

Draft Registration card for Walter E. Dalton was completed in 1941, based on his stated age of 20.

His then stated employer of the Ashville Cotton Mill agrees with his enlistment record which classified his occupation as "Unskilled occupations in manufacture of textiles"

Grave marker for Walter E. Dalton in the Green Hills Cemetery, Asheville (Buncombe county), North Carolina.

Walter enlisted in the Army at Ft Jackson, Columbia, SC on 31 July 1942.

 Pvt Dalton completed basic training and jump school before being transferred from the Parachute School, Ft Benning, GA to Company D, 508th PIR on 7 August 1943.  On 28 August 1943 he was transferred to RS 990.
