Grave marker for Anthony F. Danek in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela (Washington county), Pennsylvania.

Daniel enlisted in the Army at Pittsburgh, PA on 27 September 1943 and was assigned to Hq Hq, 508th PIR.

On 4 January 1945 he was appointed to the grade of Pfc.

Pfc Danek was awarded the Combat infantryman badge for action during the Ardennes campaign, 18 Dec 1944 to 20 Feb 1945.

He was discharged at the Separation Center, Ft Dix, NJ on 23 June 1946.

On 8 February 1950 Anthony applied for WWII Veterans Compensation offered by the state of Pennsylvania.  He was given a total of $260 for his combined domestic and foreign service time.
