ALFRED A. DAVIS

   Mr. Alfred Arthur Davis 62 of 4424 Major St died Thursday at Mercy Hospital. Funeral is 2 pm today at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Hankins & Whittington Funeral Home is in charge.
   Mr. Davis retired as owner and president of Al Davis Television. He was a World War II Army paratrooper. He was a native of Erie County, Pa.
   Survivors are wife Dorothy son Alfred Davis Jr daughters Mrs. Mary Moore of Panama City Fla., Mrs. Diane Fourtsch of Lowell, Miss Kristen Davis, nine grandchildren

Alfred registered for the draft in Union City, PA on 30 June 1942 and was inducted into the Army at Harrisburg, PA on 16 January 1943.

Pvt Davis was assigned to the 508th Parachute infantry Regiment and attached to the Regimental Band on 29 January 1943.

He was promoted to Pfc in January 1944.  shortly after that the 508th Band was dissolved and Pfc Davis transferred to another regimental band.

He was discharged on 13 December 1945.

On 23 January 1950, Alfred submitted this application for the Pennsylvania WWII Veterans Bonus.  He was credited with 12 months of domestic duty and 23 months of foreign service yielding a $465 award.
