RICHARD C. DERMONT

Grave markers for Richard C. Dermont in the Garden of St Mark, Saint Matthews Cemetery, West Seneca (Erie county), New York.

Richard enlisted in he Army at Buffalo, NY on 26 Oct 1943 and wa assigned to Company H, 508th PIR.

On 17 May 1943 Pvt Dermont wa promoted to Corporal. on 6 September 1943 Sgt Dermont was sent on a 32 Detached Service to the Rear Detachment, Camp Mackall, NC returning on 24 October 1943.

Unfortunately he was reduced to Pvt on 26 May 1944 for Misconduct. 

On 24 December 1944 Pvt Dermont was wounded in action in Belgium and evacuated to a field hospital.  He returned to duty on.9 January 1945.

Pvt Dermont was promote to Pfc on 14 January 1945.

His military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for theHolland campaign and Airborne operations.
