Grave marker for Raymond J. Dewees in Greenlawn Cemetery,
Jacksonville (Duval county), Florida. Raymond
enlisted in the Army at Ft Benjamin Harrison, IN on 26 March 1943.
His early service career is unknown but on 27 January
1945 Pfc Dewees was transferred from the 551st PIB to Company B, 508th
PIR..
Four days later he was hospitalized and did not return
to the regiment.
SSgt Dewess' military decorations include the bronze
Service Arrowhead device for the Southern France Campaign and Airborne
