HERBERT E. DIAZ
Herbert served in the 508th ARCT as a medic from 1954 to 1956 . He retied as a Sergeant First Class.

He and his wife lie together in a crypt in Saint Bernard Memorial Gardens, Chalmette (St. Bernard Parish), Louisiana.

 

Herbert E. Diaz Sr., a retired pot repairman for Kaiser Aluminum, died Wednesday of pancreatic cancer at Metropolitan Hospice. He was 75.  Mr. Diaz was born in Delacroix Island and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church and a member of Kaiser Retirement Club. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Doris "Dot" Weathers Diaz; two sons, Herbert E. Diaz Jr. and Barry Diaz; and a brother, Allen Diaz. A funeral will be held today at 8:39 am ay Vickers, Verette and Dornan Funeral Home, 3027 Jean Lafitte Parkway, Chalmette.  Visitation will begin at 83:0 am. A mass will  follow the funeral at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 815 Badger Drive, Arabi.  Burial will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens..
