JOHN DOBRANSKY

Grave marker for John Dobransky in Plot HH, 242 of the Nashville National Cemetery, Nashville (Davidson County), Tennessee.

John was a member of Company F, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment and jumped into Normandy on d-Day, June 6, 1944.

He was wounded during a firefight on 8 June '44 and evacuated to a field hospital where he spent the next three months recuperating. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star for his actions that day.

John remained in the Army and retied as a Command Sergeant Major.
