John registered for the draft in
Alturas, CA on 30 June 1942 and was inducted into the Army at
Sacramento, CA on 0 February 1943.
On 13 September 1944, Pfc Dolezol was
transferred from Hq 82d A/B Division Leicester, England to Service
Company, 508th PIR. On 22 November 1944 he was transferred to Hq
3d.
Pfc Dolezol was hospitalized on 2
December 1944. He returned to duty on 11 December having been
discharged from the 50th Field Hospital, Camp Sissonne, France.
On 24 December 1944, he was evacuated
to a field hospital and classed as a "non-battle casualty."
On 20 May 1945, still not fully recovered, Pfc Dolezol was transferred to the hospital's detachment of patients
and did not return to the regiment.
