Grave marker for George W. Dutcher in
Academy Cemetery, Canandaigua (Ontario county), New York.
George enlisted in the Army at
Rochester, NY on 19 September 1942 and was initially assigned to Company
A, 508th PIR.
On 24 October 1943, Pvt Dutcher was
transferred to the 69th Infantry Division. He apparently saw
action as the grave maker inscription indicates that he earned the
Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters. |
