VINCENT F. DYER

DYER In Chelsea. March 11, F. Vincent, of 28 Everett av., beloved husband of Genevieve (Wyligorskt) Dyer and son of William and Marv Deasy of Chelsea; .brother of Richard Dyer of Dorchester, Mrs. Harriet DeRose of Taunton and Mrs. Lydia Olivena of South Boston. Funeral Saturday at 8:45 a.m.. from the Walata Funeral Home, 125 Washington av.. followed by a Solemn Requiem High Mass at St. Rose's Church at 9:45 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday from 7-10. and Friday, from 2-5 and 7-10. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.

Vincent registered for the draft in Chelsea, MA on 16 October 1940 and was inducted into the Army at  Boston, MA on 16 March 1942,

On 27 October 1943, Pvt Dyer was assigned to Service Company, 508th PIR,

Pvt Dyer was sent on Detached Service at the Small Arms School, Stoke on Trent, England on 23 May 1944.  Upon return he was transferred to Hq 2nd.on 26 May.

He was promoted to SSgt on 30 July 1944 but a late return from furlough in Paris .in December 1944 cost him all 4 stripes.

Pvt Dyer was transferred to the 101st Airborne Division on 28 May 1945.
