EARL E. EASTMAN

Grave markers for Earl E. Eastman in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery, East Bend (Yadkin county), North Carolina.

Earl enlisted in the Army at Chicago, IL on 20 March 1942 and at some poimt volunteered for parachutist duty.  Although the date of his arrival is not known, he was transferred to Hq 2nd, 508th PIR.

Pvt Eastman's stay in the 508th was short, however, as he was hospitalized in the Oliver General Hospital, Augusta, GA  during the Tennessee Maneuvers.  He may have been injured in a parachute jump.

Om 17 October 1943 he was given a Certificate of Disability and discharged from the service.
