JAMES CORAL ! ECKARD, age 68, of Koosharam, Utah died j March 30, 1994. in Richfield. Utah.
He was born on June 14. 10 in Rostraver, Pennsylvania.
He was a heavy equipment operator for San Bernardino County for 16 years. He retired in 1979.
He is survived by his faithful and loving companion Olive Sloan;, his daughter. Eleanore Lee Eckard. Garces, Redlands; step-son Louis Fiorino, San Bernardino; brother, Harold Lynn; sisters i Betty Staffieri, and Wanda
McGee of Pennsylvania; Olive's sons James Ronald Sloan and Robert Sloan; Olive's 3 grandchildren and Louis 2 children and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services and interment will take place at Riverside National
Cemetery in Riverside on April 15, 1994, 11:30 am, Staging Area 2.

James registered for the draft in
Westmoreland county, PA on 16 June 1943 and enlisted into the Army on 21
October 1943.
Pvt Eckard was missing in action on 6
October 1944 but as later reported as slightly wounded in action and
hospitalized.
On 6 November.1944herejoinedd the
company but was immediately transferred to Service Company for light
duty..
On 25 March 1945 Pvt Eckard was
hospitalized was a nnn-battle casualty. He was transferred to that
hospital's department of patients on 25 March1945.
He left the ETO on 2 May 1946. and was
discharged at Fort Dix, NJ on 7 April 1946.
On 30 June 1950 James submitted this
application for the Pennsylvania WWII Veterans Bonus. He was
credited with 7 months of domestic duty and 21 months of foreign service
netting him a $385 bonus award.
James
married Eleanore T Tordy Fiorino [1927-2010] in Winchester, Virginia
on/31 May 1974.
They divorced in San Bernardino, CA on
