   The following is a complete list of those accepted for induction into the army tomorrow: Victor Westford; Paul Ekstrom, Tyngsboro, Richard Pillman, Ayer; Guy W. Bartlett, Jr., Shirley; Oliver Robinson, Tyngsboro; Lindsey Cozzens, Littleton; Joseph E. Carton, Jr., Ayer; John J O'Connell, Westford; Elmer Onthank, Townsend; Charles J. O'Neil, East Chelmsford; Ernest E. Hayes, North Chelmsford; Warren O. Almy Pepperell; Thomas Salo, Ashby, William G. Bailey; West Townsend; Lester R. Colt, Townsend, Waiter Hannah, East Pepperell, for the aviation cadets.

Paul registered for the draft in Westford, Massachusetts on 16 October 1940 and was inducted into the Army at Fort Devens, MA on 9 December 1943.

Pvt Ekstrom was transferred from Hq 82d Airborne Division, Leicester, England to Servicer Company, 508th PIR on 13 September 1944.

On 8 December 1944 he was transferred to the Medical Detachment. but 10 days later he was transferred back to Service Company.

He was promoted to Pfc on 4 January 1945.

On 14 August 1948.Paul married Lydia Maria Luise Launsbach in Redondo Beach, CA, a native of Frankfurt am Main, Germany 

 

Lydia successfully petitioned for U.S. citizenship and took the oath of allegiance in Los Angeles, CA on 28 May 1954.
