RICHARD L. ELLIOTT

   Richard Lynn Elliott, 84, Stewartsville, (formerly of Eagleville, Missouri) died Thursday, April 21, 2011. He was born September 5, 1926 in Blythedale, Missouri, the son of Ora and Elsie (Allman) Elliott.
   On September 25, 1947, he married Shirley Wyant in Eagleville. She preceded him in death on August 22, 2007.
   Richard served as a sergeant in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division during World War II in the European Theatre from 1944 to 1946.
   He was a farmer, a rural mail carrier in the Eagleville area for many years and North District Commissioner of Harrison County.
   He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Elliott, Lee's Summit; sons, Tracy Elliott (Donna), Red Oak, Iowa, Brent Elliott (Kelly), Stewartsville, and Mike Elliott (Linda), Clinton; grandchildren, Chad Elliott (Anne), Bristol, England, Cam Elliott, Warrensburg, Connor Elliott, Columbia, and Trenton and Kennedy Elliott, Clinton; sister, Carol Wilcoxson (Darryl), Lamoni, Iowa; special relatives, Debbie Keller and Tim Canyon.
   He also was preceded in death by [his] parents.
   Memorial Services will be 3 pm Tuesday, May 3, at the Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, Missouri, with inurnment at the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
   The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Hill Cemetery and/or Harrison County Road to Recovery in care of Roberson Funeral Home, PO Box 46, Eagleville, MO 64442.
   Arrangements are under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, Missouri.

Grave markers for Richard L. Elliott in Section L, Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale (Harrison county), Missouri.

Richard enlisted in the Army at Fort Leavenworth, KS on 11 October 1944.

On 19 October 1945, Pfc Elliott was transferred from the 101st Airborne Division to Company I, 508th PIR.
