Paul F. Englert
Paul F. Englert, 65, of 262 Brooklyn Ave., died at 3:40 p.m. Saturday at Salem Community Hospital following a two-week [illegible]
Born April 2, 1926 in Salem, he was a son of the late Robert J. and Mary E. (Walzer) Englert. He graduated from Salem High School in 1944.
He was employed for 38 years with the Ohio Bell Co, in Salem as the central office repairman, retiring in 1988. He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during World War II and is a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Pioneers of Ohio Bell, and Salem Elks Lodge 305.
Mr. Englert is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pamela Butler of Canonsburg, Pa., and Mrs.. Shelley Allen of Akron; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Less of Salem, Mrs. Bertha Sweeney of Cincinnati, and Mrs. Helen Conkl of Lake Milan; a brother, Robert T. Englert of Sebring; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Francis Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
There will be no calling hours. Material tributes may be made to Our Lady’s Purse of St. Paul Catholic Church. Arrangements were handled by Stark Memorial.

The 11 July edition of the Plain Dealer, The Cleveland, Ohio listed Paul
as one of many Army inductees processed into Fort Benjamin Harrison, IN
that day.
Pvt Englert was transferred to Fort Bragg, NC for his basic training.
Following basic training Pvt Englert was assigned to Fort Bragg's
Field Artillery Replacement Training Center.
Upon
completing that raining , he was sent to the 17th Airborne fore
occupation duty in Frankfurt (APO 468)
On 15 October 1945, Pvt Englert was transferred from 82ned Airborne
Division Hq to Company C, 508th PIR. |
