HOWARD G. ESTERLINE

   Howard Glenn Esterline, Sr., 77, of Apache Junction, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2002.  Served in the U.S. Army, WWII.  Visitation 5-8 pm, Friday, May 24, 2002 at Mariposa Funeral Chapel, 400 South Power Rd, Mesa, AZ. Services 11 am, Saturday, May 25, 2002 at East Valley Nazarene 127 N. Signal Butte, Apache Junction

Grave marker for Howard G. Esterline in Section 50, Site 1348 of the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix (Maricopa county), Arizona.

Howard enlisted in the Army on 1 April 1944.

On 5 October 1944, Pvt Esterline was transferred from HQ 82nd Division, Leicester England to Service Company, 508th PIR.

.However, after less than two weeks, on 19 October, he was transferred to the 16th Replacement Depot, Warminster, England.

Pvt Esterline was captured in Belgium on 18 December 1944 and was liberated from Stalag 13C on 25 July 1945.  He was discharged on 21 November 1945.
