Tec/4 Harry L. Evans, Hq Hq

Tec/4 Harry L. Evans, Hq Hq was awarded .his parachutist wings on November 6, 1942 as attested to in this diploma signed by Col. Lindquist.

However, there seems to be a discrepancy in the date of the document,   The date is but one month after the unit's activation and the stint of basic training at Camp Blanding was still underway.  The unit did not leave Florida for its jump training phase until February 5, 1943

It should also be noted that Col. Lindquist (as this document is signed) was but a Lieutenant Colonel during the time that the 508th was encamped in Camp Blanding.  Lindquist was a stickler for formalities and wound never have signed a certificate that mis-stated his rank.
