JOSEPH F. FARRELL

Grave marker for Joseph F. Farrell in Section I-2, Row 8, Site 377 of the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter (Washington), Rhode Island.

Joseph entered the army on 2 Nov 1939. 

2/Lt Farrell was initially an assistant platoon leader in Company C beginning in early 1943.  He was promoted to 1st Lt on 16 Nov 1943.

On 6 June 1944, 1st Lt Farrell parachuted into Normandy, France.,  He was wounded in action that same

His military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead awarded for participation in the Normandy assault and the Bronze Star Medal (date of award unknown)..
