Grave marker for Richard W. Fogt  in Arlington National Cemetery's Section 54, Site 5569

Richard enlisted at Cincinnati, OH on 23 Oct 1943 and after completion of basic training and jump school he was assigned to the 508 PIR, probably as a replacement after the Normandy Campaign.  He was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for participation in the Holland campaign and Airborne operations.  It may also be when he earned the Purple Heart.
