ROBERT L. FOLDS

Robert Lee Folds, 84, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Saturday December 17, 2016 at the Community Hospice Morris Center, Jacksonville, Florida. He was born April 14, 1932 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The family moved to Tampa, Florida where he spent most of his childhood.

Robert was a Veteran of The United States Army 82nd Air Borne Division and served in the Korean War.

He married the love of his life, Frances Thomas Folds in 1954, and they were happily married for 60 years, before her passing in September, 2015. Soon after marriage they moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where he worked and retired from the United States Postal Service in 1990.

He enjoyed Florida State Football, the Jacksonville Jaguars, his men's Sunday School Class and flying his Cessna Airplane. Robert was a Deacon and active member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, where he taught 8th grade boys Sunday School for 50 years.

Survivors include his daughter, Theresa Folds Langston (Alan), Tallahassee, two grandchildren, Kari Charles (Gary), Tallahassee, Justin Langston (Elizabeth), Medart, Florida, and five great grandchildren. Brothers, Glen Folds (Grace), Curtis Folds, New Port Richey, Florida, Larry Folds (Rebecca), San Antonio, Texas and Danny Athanasaw (Yvonne), Spotsylvania, Virginia.

Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday December 28, 2016 at Corey–Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave. Jacksonville, Florida. Graveside Service and burial with Military Honors will be Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Fl. 32311

Robert served in the Medical Detachment, 508th ARCT from 1951 to 1953.
