Grave marker for Dane M. Foskey in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah (Chatham county), Georgia.

On 9 October 1943 Dane registered for the draft at Lyons, GA where was a student at Abraham Baldran Agricultural College and was inducted into the Army enlisted at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Gal.

Pvt Foskey was transferred from the 11th Reinforcement Depot to Company H, 5-8th PIR  on1 Mar 1945

  Miss Doris Smith To Marry Mr. Foskey

   Mr. and Mrs. Max Smith of Vidalia [GA[ announce the engagement .of their daughter, Miss Doris Smith, to Dane Milo Foskey of Vidalia and Macon.
   The couple will be married on Jan. 18 at the B. B. Jacob Synagogue in Savannah.
   The bride-elect is associated with the Max Smith Department Store of Vidalia,
   Mr. Foskey attended Abraham-Baldwin College and served three years with the paratrooper division of the U.S. Army. He is now employed by Palmer Tire Co. in Macon.


The Abraham Baldran Agricultural College was established in 1908 and still flourishes today.  It is widely known by its less cumbersome mnemonic of "ABAC".
   It's 4,000-plus student body enjoys the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources as the largest area of study at ABAC. Surprisingly, Nursing is the largest single major.
