RICHARD E. FRITTER

Grave markers for Richard E. Fritter in the Chicamuxen Methodist Church Cemetery, Chicamuxen (Charles county), Missouri.

Richard enlisted in the Army at Charlottesville, VA on 14 November 1942.

On 17 December 1942 Pvt Fritter was transferred from Camp Toccoa, GA to Hq 3rd, 508th PIR.

Following the Normandy jump he was promoted to T/5 on 21 July 1944 and in separate 82nd Airborne Division General Orders was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and then the awarded the Bronze Star Medal with 1 OLC.  He also received the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for participation in Normandy assault.
