STEWART A. FRIZZELL

Grave marker for Stewart A. Frizzell in the Morrison Cemetery, Canaan (Essex county), Vermont.

Stewart enlisted in the Army at Manchester, NH on 9 February 1942 and was initially assigned to the Band for the 503rd PIR. 

On 20 October 1942, as the 508th PIR was activated, Cpl Frizzell was attached to Hq Hq, 508th and then made a member of the 508th band as it was formed. 

Cpl Frizzell was appointed to the grade of T/4 on 5 November 1942. 

T/4 Frizzell remained in the 508th band and left when the band was merged with other band units to form the 112th Army Ground Forces Band. 

Based on his grave marker inscription he attained the rank of SSgt at a later date.
