Ronald J. Frydenlund, 80, Jamestown, died Nov. 26, 2012, at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, under the care of hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Basilica of St. James, Jamestown. Burial will be held in the spring at Highland Home Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; his sons, Paul, Rolla, Jay, East Grand Forks, Minn., and Eric, Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; his daughters, Carrie Haakenson, Jamestown, Jamie Moher, West Des Moines, Iowa, Leigh Ann Anderson, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Sara Jessen, Minnetonka, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Oanes, Baxter, Minn.; and one brother, Gordon, Seattle.

Ronald J. Frydenlund, 80, Jamestown, ND died
Monday, November 26, 2012 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, under the
care of hospice.
Ronald was born July 1, 1932 to Hjalmer and Lola (Swenson)
Frydenlund in Mayville, ND. Ronald lived between North Dakota and Wisconsin
until he moved to Hatton, ND to live with his uncle and aunt, Conrad and
Tola Frydenlund. He graduated from Hatton High School in 1950. Ronald
enlisted in the US Army in 1951 and served until 1953. He was in the 82nd
Airborne Division, at Fort Benning, GA. Ronald and Denise Bushy were married
January 28, 1956. Ronald graduated from UND in 1958 and moved to Bismarck,
ND, where he went to work for the state highway department as an Auditor.
They moved to Jamestown in 1971, where he worked for LeFevre Sales,
Haybusters Manufacturing Company, Northwestern National Life Insurance, and
recently drove a school bus for Dietrich Bus Service and worked at Prairie
Veterinary Hospital.
Ron and Denise loved to travel including going to Europe twice and
visiting most of the 50 states. They made yearly trips to Florida for spring
baseball training games and had many vacations at the lake with the kids.
Ronald was involved with baseball for many years between Little
League and American Legion. Ronald did everything from working the field to
PA announcer to the financial fund raiser. Ronald served on the Jamestown
Park Board. He was a member of the American Legion Post 14 for 55 years and
was inducted into the American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998. Ronald
enjoyed going to all of his kids and grandkids games and events as well as
meeting regularly with his "Coffee Buddies."
Ronald is survived by his wife, Denise, Jamestown; sons, Paul
(Barb), Rolla, ND, Jay (Durene), East Grand Forks, MN and Eric (Anita),
Inver Grove Hts, MN; daughters, Carrie Haakenson, Jamestown, Jamie Moher,
West Des Moines, IA, Leigh Ann (Rod) Anderson, Chagrin Falls, OH and Sara
(Chris) Jessen, Minnetonka, MN; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; one
sister, Bonnie Oanes, Baxter, MN and one brother, Gordon Frydenlund,
Seattle, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and aunt and uncle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Roger Maris
Cancer Center.
No visitation is scheduled.
