THOMAS J. GALLAGHER

Grave marker for Thomas J. Gallagher in Plot W, Site 429-B, Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale (Suffolk county), New York.

Thomas married Alice Adams in New York City, NY on 12 June 1939.

He enlisted in the Army on 16 November 1942 and was inducted New York City, NY on 23 November.

On 17 December 1942, Pvt Gallagher was transferred from Camp Toccoa, GA to Hq 3rd, 508 PIR,

On 21 February 1944, Pvt Gallagher was list as having reported in sick call at the hospital. On March 1st he was transferred to the Detachment of Patients at the 79th General Hospital, Belfast, Northern Ireland.

On 125 April, Pvt Gallagher was attached to the company for rations, quarters and duty from the 10 Replacement Depot. On My 3rd he as relieved of the attached status and assigned to the company.

He was promoted to Tec/5 on 14 September 1944

On 109 June 1944 by verbal orders of the commander, he was attached to Hq & Hq Com Regimental Mail Section for quarters, rations and duty.

He was discharged on 12 December 1944.
