CHARLES D. GALLINGER

Grave marker for Charles D. Gallinger in the Old Marcellus Village Cemetery, Marcellus (Onondaga county), New York.

Charles enlisted in the Army at Syracuse, NY on 14 November 1942. 

Pvt Gallinger was promoted to the grade of Pfc on 30 November 1943.

Pfc Gallinger ws wounded in action in France on 29 June 1944.  He was listed as having been transferred to an unknown hospital as of 27 September 1944 and did not return to the regiment.

His military decorations include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Arrowhead Service device for action during Normandy, France Campaign, 6 June 1944 to 9 July 1944
