Grave marker for Alex D. Garcia in Section 52 Site 478 of the National
Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix (Maricopa county), Arizona.
Alex enlisted in the Army at Phoenix, AZ on 22 June 1943
and was assigned to company C, 508th PIR.
Pvt Garcia was appointed to the grade of Pfc on 1 January
1945. He was slightly injured in battle on 14 February 1945 and
evacuated to a field hospital. He did not return to the regiment.
Pfc Garcia's military decorations include the Bronze
Service Arrowhead device for the Holland campaign and Airborne
operations. |
