Grave marker for Arthur E. Getts in Crestview Memorial
Park, Wichita Falls (Wichita county), Texas.
 Arthur
registered for the draft ca 1941 and was inducted into the Army on 30
November 1942.
Although his elevation
from Pvt was not recorded, Pfc Getts was promoted to the grade of Cpl as
of 21 July 1944. In addition, according to the inscription
on his grave marker he was a Tec/5, the same grade level as Corporal.
His military decorations
include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device which was awarded for
participation in Normandy assault. |
