 Gilstead, Lyle Q. age 90,of Duluth, passed away September 11,2013 in Solvay Hospice House.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, September 15 from 1-3 p.m. at VFW Post 137, 2024 W. Superior St. Duluth.

Lyle registered for the
draft in Walker, MN on 30 June 1942 and was inducted on 9 April 1943.
Pvt Gilstead arrived in Company C on 22 November 1944 and
was appointed to Pfc on 1 January 1945.
Pfc Gilstead was sent to a field hospital on 25 January
1945 and did not return to the regiment. He was discharged on 24
February 1945. His
military decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge for action
during the campaign, 18 Dec 1944 to 20 Feb 1945 |
