Jewish Welfare Board record
for Samuel Glashow indicating the award of the Order of William from the
Netherlands.
On 28 July 1944 Captain
Glashow, a dentist, was attached to the 508th from the 307th A/B Med Co
Leicester, England. He was brought in specifically to treat men of
the regiment after having spent months without dental care while in the
field.
It is unclear when the
Captain left the 508th. The fact that he received the Order of
William serves to show that he remained, at least, within the 82nd
Airborne during that campaign. |
Dr. Samuel Glashow, of 13 Dyckman St., Manhattan, a
dentist, has been designated to organize a New York chapter of the 82nd
Airborne Association and urges interested Brooklynites to contact him.
There are known to be 871 members of the airborne division living in New
York.
