Jack Goad

   Jack Goad, 95, of Redding, died on Sunday, December 25th at Shasta Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are pending at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding (243-1525).

Grave marker for Jack P. Goad in Section 12, Site 209, Northern California Veterans Cemetery, Igo (Shasta county), California.

Jack enlisted in the Army at Binghamton, NY on 24 October 1940/.

Pvt Goad was transferred from the 6900th Reinforcement Depot to Company B, 508h PIR on 3 June 1945.

He arrived in New York, NY from Le Havre, France aboard the USS Le Jeune on 6 May 1946.

He remained in the Army and on 26 December 1948,m he again sailed into New York City's harbor, this time from Bremerhaven, Germany aboard the USAT Edmund B Alexander.
