Grave markers for
George P. Godfrey in Section E-1 of the Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton
Harbor (Berrien county), Michigan.
The plain granite marker
lies near the family plot headstone while the bronze marker is at the
foot of George's grave.
Although a Michigan
native, George enlisted in the Army at Los Angeles, CA on 12 November
1942. His profession as a driver may have brought him to the West Coast.
Sgt Godfrey was a member of G Company and was awarded the Purple Heart
and Bronze Star Medal. |
