PHILLIP H. GOSSELIN

Grave marker for Phillip H. Gosselin in Plot AA1 of the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover (Essex county), Massachusetts.

Phillip enlisted in the Army at Boston, MA on 2 July 1941and was assigned to Company D, 508th PIR.

On 3 August 1944 he was promoted to Pfc.

Pfc Gosselin participated in the Holland jump on 17 September 1944 and was wounded in action there on 20 September. He was evacuated to a field hospital and returned to duty on 28 September.

During the Ardennes campaign he was apparently wounded again and was sent to a field hospital as a "battle casualty" where he was transferred to another unnamed hospital on 28 January 1945.

On 7 March 1945 Cpl Gosselin returned to the company having been transferred from the 11th Reinforcement Depot.
