Richard served in the 508th ARCT from 1955 to 1956 and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Richard F. Grasso of Daleville, AL (Clayhatchee) passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the family residence. He was 77.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Hixson officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Providence Cemetery. The body will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Grasso was born December 19, 1935 in Superior, Colorado to the late John and Rose Hobson Grasso. He served in the United States Army for 23 years and was a Vietnam veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, John and Thomas Grasso, and a daughter, Theresa Rose Grasso. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty Grasso of Clayhatchee;two daughters, Natalie Fuller (Tony), Madison, AL, Monica Grasso Garrison (Elliott), Cordova, TN;close friend, Teresa Boswell (Daughter), Clayhatchee;1 brother, Victor "Butch" Grasso (Annie), Florence, MT; sister-in-law, Sue Grasso, Hampton, VA;1 grandchild, Brandon Fuller; several nieces and nephews.
