WILLIAM L. GRAVES

Grave marker for William L. Graves in the Farmington Cemetery, Farmington (Oconee county), Georgia.

William enlisted in the Army at Ft McPherson, Atlanta, GA on 1 April 1943..

On 23 July 1944 Pvt Graves was transferred from the 82nd A/B Division, Leicester, England to Company G, 508th PIR.

Pvt Graves was wounded in action in Holland on 18 September 1944 and did not return to duty until 7 November.

He was appointed to the rank of Pfc on 1 January 1945.

Pfc Graves' military awards include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations
