JACK L. GREENE

June 6, 2009 Jack L. Greene, 72, of Allen Road, Cato, [NY] died Saturday at home. Born in Cicero, Jack lived in Memphis before moving to the town of Ira in 1990.

He retired in 1995 after 30 years as a truck driver for Penn Traffic. Jack served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper and a medic with the 101st Airborne Division. He was a member of Cato American Legion Post 911.

Jack was an avid hunter who especially enjoyed hunting on Gene's land with his buddies Rod and Dave. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors in general. His greatest enjoyment though was spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his brother, Bill, and four sisters, Stella, Della, Sally and Wilma. Surviving are four daughters, Rhonda (Rod) Raper of Cato, Roberta Greene of Goshen, NY, Teresa (Scott) Winston of Midlothian, Va, and Rashelle (Matt) Williams of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Donna Gillan of Baldwinsville, Shirley Redmond of Memphis and Virginia Mincola of Fort Pierce, FL; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Auburn Alliance Church, N. Seward Ave. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to call 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main St. (Rte. 5), Elbridge.
